Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 17, 2025
1. Introduction
Plynth ("we", "our", "us") operates the website omni-shop.in and the Plynth Picker Chrome Extension (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
b. Product Data (Chrome Extension)
When you use the Plynth Picker extension to clip a product, we extract publicly visible product information from the page you are viewing — including the product name, price, images, brand, category, dimensions, and the source URL. This data is sent to your Plynth account so you can use it in the design studio.
c. Authentication Token
The Chrome Extension stores your Plynth authentication token locally in chrome.storage so you stay logged in between sessions. This token is only used to authenticate requests to the Plynth API and is never shared with third parties.
d. Room Images
If you upload room photos for AI visualization, those images are processed to generate design visualizations and are stored in your account.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not track your browsing history or monitor which websites you visit.
- We do not collect personal or financial information from third-party websites.
- We do not read page content unless you actively click "Clip to Plynth".
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Plynth design studio and AI visualization features.
- To save clipped products to your account for use in room designs.
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- To improve our product extraction accuracy and service quality.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser and are not accessible to other extensions or websites.
6. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Plynth Picker extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab — to read product data from the page you are currently viewing when you click the extension.
- scripting — to inject the product extraction script into the active tab.
- tabs — to communicate with open Plynth tabs for authentication and to notify the design studio when a product is clipped.
- storage — to store your authentication token locally.
- Host permissions (omni-shop.in) — to send clipped product data to the Plynth API.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us.
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Uninstall the Chrome Extension at any time to stop all data collection from it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
